LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
We are nestled in rural Stockton/Lodi area of California. We are just 50
miles south of Sacramento and 90 miles east of San Francisco.
Surrounded by Grape Vineyards, we are raising a complimentary meat to go with the fast producing wines of our area.
Our ranch set up has been designed to be functional to allow the goats
plenty of graze, and when feeding during the dormant times, easy access
to the feeders. We still have Vineyards of Lodi just across the street.
Come wine tasting in Lodi, and come check out our ranch too!

ASSOCIATIONS
While we are promoting the industry of the Boer goat not an "association" we are members of
All of these associations have something to offer in valuable
learning experiences and insides of the goat business. Our herd animals
are registered in either International Boer Goat Association or ABGA,
and a few are dually registered.
Chris was the Youth Director for the International Boer Goat Association
for three years.
The goals were simple, GET THE YOUTH INVOLVED. That is the biggest way
to promote our animals and give the youth a strong direction to step
forward in leadership. From raising commercial, percentage, purebreds,
fullbloods and market animals the youth learn valuable lessons of
confidence, life, success and some times losses.
Sundance Kids also was also instrumental in creating the Cal-West Boer
Connection Production Sale that started the production sales of today
throughout California. Our goal for the six years that we put this sale
on was to present a good group of goats, that would improve others
herds. There have been many breeders that started their program with
goats that they purchased from this sale. In 2009 we dissolved the
Cal-West Boer Connection partnership, although don’t be surprised if you
see us again in other sales, or putting on another sale with a little
different twist as we are trying to be on the cutting edge!
SHOWS:
We put on the Valley Classic Boer Goat Show in Stockton at the San
Joaquin Fairgrounds for 8 years. We have handed over the show to others
– the name remains the same, the hosts are just a little more enthused
at this point! This show had seemed to be a kick-off show of Northern
California each year. This is an Open show on Saturday followed by a Jr.
Market Show on Sunday. Check out the Valley Classic page for the show
schedule, and websites for more information.
EDUCATION:
Education of the not only the youth but breeders as well is another
important aspect in what Sundance Kids has been involved in. Over the
years we have been instrumental in putting on, or being part of Field
Days for educational purposes. Some have been targeted to the
Market/Meat Goat youth, others have been targeted to all including new
breeders. In 2009 we helped to put on the first BREEDER, LEADER &
FEEDER Meat Goat Seminar in Herald, CA (just northeast of Galt).
Together with J and J Livestock and White Rail Ranch, we figured we
would have about 150 people in attendance. We had over 330 people
attend. It was an awesome day of learning, with Joe Raff from Witchita
Falls, Tx coming out to give hands on demonstrations of selection of
wethers, Nikki Raff demonstrating fitting, Jan Carlson of UC Davis
giving tips on General Care, and Adam Davies discussing Nutrition and
Feed with the Breeders. We are set to have another Breeder, Leader and
Feeder Seminar on January 9th 2010 at the Stockton Fairgrounds, followed
by a WETHERING THE EDGE – WETHER SALE. Click here
